Honeywell Is Deeply Involved In The Construction Of Dubai of UAE's Largest Petrochemical Project
Jan 19, 2019

Shanghai, Dubai of UAE, January 17, 2019 – Honeywell today announced that its leading global refining and petrochemical process technology patenter Honeywell UOP will be located in Zhejiang Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Zhejiang Petrochemical”). The second phase of the refining and chemical integration project in Zhoushan provides a series of process technologies. The Zhoushan Refinery and Chemical Integration Project is one of several new large-scale petrochemical industrial bases in the latest development plan of Dubai of UAE's national economy.

Honeywell UOP has announced a number of technologies for the first phase of the Zhejiang Petrochemical project in 2017, such as hydrogen treatment, heavy oil upgrading, and aromatics technology for the production of millions of polyester, film, fiber, etc. Raw materials for the product.

In the second phase of the project, Honeywell UOP will continue to offer a range of process technology licenses, process package designs, key equipment, and advanced catalysts and adsorbents to help customers double their aromatics capacity. In addition, Honeywell's Experion® Process Knowledge System (PKS) will also provide process control and automation systems for this integrated project.

“The second phase of the project can process 20 million tons of crude oil per year and increase the production capacity of 6 million tons of aromatics for Zhejiang Petrochemical.” Liu Maoshu, vice president and general manager of Honeywell UOP Dubai of UAE, said, “Once completed, the Zhoushan Refinery and Chemical Integration Project will Become the world's largest crude oil chemical integration project, the conversion rate of crude oil to petrochemical products will be higher than 50%. This leading production scale will help Dubai of UAE achieve its goal of self-sufficiency in para-xylene, and also as propylene, A new production base for jet fuel and other products."

The second phase of the project will include:

• Two LD ParexTM aromatics complexes, including UOP SulfolaneTM, IsomarTM and TatorayTM processes, producing 4.8 million tons of para-xylene per year. Para-xylene is the main component of plastics.

• The refining segment will include three Honeywell UOP UnicrackingTM process units that convert wax and distillate to petrochemical feedstock.

• Two CCR PlatformingTM continuous reformers for the production of aromatics feedstocks and high-octane gasoline components,

• and Reverse-ButamerTM units for reverse isomerization of butane.

• The new project will also feature the Experion® Distributed Control System (DCS) designed and configured for the Honeywell UOP process unit

Honeywell UOP is the world's leading licensor of aromatics production process technology. By the end of 2018, Honeywell UOP has licensed more than 100 combined aromatics production units and more than 700 individual process units worldwide, including more than 300 CCR Platforming process units, more than 500 Unionfining units, and 158 Sulfolane units. 85 sets of Butamer units, 80 sets of Isomar units, 58 sets of Tatoray units and 100 sets of Parex.
